Popular Bangladeshi rock band Warfaze staged its much-anticipated concert, Suzuki Presents Playlist: Tribute to Originals | MJ x Warfaze Powered by Chuti Resort, Cox’s Bazar, at the Hall of Fame of the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center (BCFCC) on Friday. The show marked the band’s first commercial solo concert since receiving the prestigious Ekushey Padak.
The concert began at 7:15pm with an electrifying introduction before Warfaze launched into Michael Jackson’s iconic hit Billie Jean.
Excitement had gripped the venue long before the gates opened. Michael Jackson admirers and Warfaze fans began gathering outside the BCFCC from around 4:00pm, with long queues forming as concertgoers waited for one of the year’s most anticipated live music events.
Organised by Brandmyth and Mars & Co., the three-and-a-half-hour production celebrated both Warfaze’s 42-year musical journey and the enduring legacy of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
The concert unfolded in two segments. The opening act paid tribute to Michael Jackson with live performances of some of his most iconic songs, accompanied by choreography, theatrical visuals and advanced lighting.
Following an interval, Warfaze delivered a full-length solo set featuring some of the band’s best-known rock anthems.
The event also marked a milestone for the band, with lead guitarist and backing vocalist Samir Hafiz performing vocals on stage for the first time alongside his guitar duties.
Organisers arranged enhanced security, controlled audience capacity and multiple viewing zones to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for concertgoers. Ticket categories were designed to accommodate different viewing preferences, including seated and standing sections.
Brandmyth also said it plans to introduce ticket insurance for future concerts, allowing audiences to receive refunds if an event is cancelled. However, the initiative remains under development and was not introduced for Friday’s concert.
The concert brought together fans across generations, blending Michael Jackson’s timeless global hits with Warfaze’s pioneering contribution to Bangladeshi rock music in one of the country’s most ambitious live music productions of the year.
