Pakistan on Sunday rejected allegations by Afghan authorities linking Islamabad to alleged violence in Afghanistan’s eastern Nuristan province, describing the claims as “baseless” and lacking evidence, said the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Pakistan categorically denied any involvement by its security forces or intelligence agencies in internal clashes in Nuristan or elsewhere in Afghanistan, the ministry said in a statement, reports Xinhua.
The ministry also rejected allegations that Pakistan had recruited or trained former Afghan security personnel or facilitated the activities of the Islamic State militant group or any other terrorist organization operating in Afghanistan.
