Smartphone manufacturer vivo has introduced its latest device, the vivo Y500, aimed at providing users freedom from charging anxiety through a combination of a massive battery and intelligent power management.
The device features an 8,100mAh BlueVolt Battery, which is currently the largest in its segment. According to vivo laboratory testing, the phone retains approximately 40 per cent battery after 10 hours of mixed usage, reads a press release.
On a full charge, the Y500 can deliver up to 29 hours of YouTube browsing or 10 hours of gaming, allowing users to focus on tasks without constantly monitoring battery percentages.
To address heat buildup during intensive tasks like gaming or streaming whilst charging, the vivo Y500 is equipped with Bypass Charging technology.
Once the battery reaches 20 per cent, this feature powers the phone directly rather than continuously charging the battery, which helps manage temperature and maintain stable performance.
Additionally, the handset includes a Battery Life Extender for low-power situations and Reverse Charging capabilities to power other compatible devices.
The Y500 is designed for long-term reliability, with an ultra-thin battery that retains at least 80 per cent capacity after roughly 1,600 charge cycles. The device incorporates several longevity features, including 6-Year Battery Health, Smart Charging Control, Overnight Charging Protection, and a Built-in Battery Health Monitor.
Beyond its power capabilities, the smartphone features a 6.83-inch 1.5K Infinity AMOLED Display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 5,000 nits. It is powered by a 6nm Ultra-Smooth Processor and includes Dual Stereo Speakers to ensure a seamless experience for multitasking and entertainment.
By combining a high-capacity battery with fast charging and smart management technologies, the vivo Y500 aims to provide users with the confidence to navigate their day without planning around a charger.
