BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has congratulated the nation and expressed profound gratitude following the party’s historic triumph in the 13th parliamentary election.
In a Facebook post shared on Friday, Fakhrul described the victory as the culmination of 17 years of political struggle, calling it “Bangladesh’s victory.”
Fakhrul thanked Almighty Allah and paid tribute to the martyrs of 1971, the late president Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia, and countless leaders and activists, including Ilias Ali and Suman, who are no longer alive. He also remembered the July martyrs, acknowledging their sacrifices that paved the way for the nation’s new chapter.
He extended heartfelt thanks to BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, party leaders and activists, and the people of Bangladesh, regardless of their religion, caste, ethnicity, or social background. He also appreciated the interim government, law enforcement agencies, and armed forces for ensuring a smooth election process.
Fakhrul urged party members and supporters to refrain from holding victory rallies on Friday, as per BNP central directives. Instead, he called for prayers and doa mahfils in local areas after Jumu’ah prayers.
Concluding his message, Fakhrul acknowledged the weight of responsibility that comes with this electoral success and requested prayers to uphold promises and serve the nation diligently.
He described the win as not just a party achievement but a milestone for the country, reflecting public aspiration for change and democratic renewal after years of political struggle.
