BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan said that the people have once again entrusted BNP with the chance to govern Bangladesh.

Speaking to reporters at the Election Commission office after reviewing results, he expressed gratitude to the voters and praised the media for helping citizens understand BNP’s future action plans.

Nazrul, also chief coordinator of BNP’s Election Management Committee, described the day as “a significant one in Bangladesh’s history.”

When asked about forming a national government, he said no discussion had taken place.

He also clarified that his visit was not an official briefing, noting that BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will issue a formal statement.

Comparing the current election with previous ones, he highlighted that previous elections saw heavy casualties, but this time there were none, calling it an important development.

He admitted voter turnout was not optimal but hoped participation would increase in the future.

“Although the results were not as expected, we remain hopeful for better outcomes ahead,” he added.
