West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee congratulated BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, addressing him as “bhai.”

She extended heartfelt congratulations to the people of Bangladesh for successfully organising the 13th parliamentary election and to BNP for winning by a large margin.

In a post on social media platform X on Friday, Mamata wrote, “My sincere congratulations and best wishes to all brothers and sisters, all the people of Bangladesh.”

She added, “For this great victory, my congratulations to my Tarique-Bhai, his party, and all the parties. I pray you all remain well and happy. I wish that our relations with Bangladesh always remain cordial.”

She also extended advance greetings to the people of Bangladesh on the occasion of Ramadan and expressed hope that the cordial relations between the two countries will remain strong.

Earlier in the day, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated Tarique Rahman.
