A fresh and potentially more intense round of US military strikes is still pending, with officials indicating that the next phase could surpass all previous assaults in scale and impact.
Donald Trump has said in the past 24 hours – and also said by Marco Rubio – that there have been a number of waves of attacks by the Americans, but the third wave will be the biggest yet. And that has still to come, reports Al Jazeera.
This comment also aligns with comments from Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who said on Monday that additional military assets were still being deployed.
He indicated that more hardware was being transferred to the theatre of operations, reinforcing expectations of further strikes.
