The Freedom Flotilla Coalition has announced a new international mission aimed at challenging Israel’s blockade of Gaza, with vessels stopping at European ports ahead of an attempt to reach Gaza’s shores in October.

In a statement, the coalition said the mission would proceed despite what it described as previous violence by Israeli forces against volunteers and activists, including allegations of severe beatings, repeated tasering and sexual assault, reports Al Jazeera.

The coalition said the action was particularly important as global attention had shifted away from Gaza following the announcement of a ceasefire in October 2025.

According to the statement, two vessels have already begun preparations for the mission.
