State Minister for Land Barrister Kaysar Kamal on Wednesday warned of stern action against land office staff who fail to cooperate with the public or neglect their duties.
He issued the warning during a surprise inspection of the Siddhirganj Union Land Office in Narayanganj around 9am.
The state minister had to wait on the office veranda for nearly half an hour after arriving, as no officials or employees were present during the scheduled office hours.
Expressing anger over the absence of staff, he described the situation as unexpected and unacceptable.
“A government elected by the people’s vote will work for the people,” said State Minister for Land Barrister Kaysar Kamal.
He said any negligence, irregularity or corruption in land offices would not be tolerated.
