The government has directed district and upazila administrations nationwide to prioritise financial literacy and raise awareness about the capital market, according to the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC).
As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance investment education and promote capital market awareness, BSEC has intensified its initiatives across the country.
The BSEC has been focused on educating the public and investors through various awareness programmes, aiming to build a more informed investor base.
In a major move to strengthen these initiatives, the Financial Institutions Division recently urged the Cabinet Division to enlist the help of all district and upazila administrations for successful implementation of these financial education programmes.
Following this request, the Cabinet Division’s Field Administration Coordination Wing issued a directive on 8 October, instructing all district and upazila administrations to take necessary actions.
The directive also included instructions to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to guide district information officers and ensure coordination with Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and Upazila Nirbahi Officers nationwide.
The Cabinet Division’s directive emphasised cooperation across all levels of administration, ensuring the integration of educational resources, event coordination, agenda inclusion, and promotional efforts.
BSEC believes that this collaborative approach will significantly boost investment education and awareness efforts, accelerating the nation’s capital market development.
With the active participation of all stakeholders, BSEC expects the public and investors to gain crucial knowledge, further contributing to the growth of the country’s capital market and economy.
In recent developments, BSEC has also linked its investment education website and YouTube channel to the National Information Portal, marking another step toward broadening its reach.
