United Hospital Limited has officially rebranded as Continental Hospital PLC, marking a new chapter in the institution’s nearly four-decade journey in Bangladesh’s healthcare sector.
The hospital said the new identity reflects its vision to provide world-class treatment within the country so that patients do not need to seek medical care abroad.
Originally registered in 1985 as Continental Hospital, the institution later became United Hospital Limited in 2004 after it transitioned to a private limited company and has since served patients across generations.

The hospital also holds accreditation from Joint Commission International (JCI), a global recognition that highlights its standards in patient safety, quality healthcare services and continuous improvement.
Continental Hospital PLC Managing Director and CEO Malik Talha Ismail Bari presented the hospital’s journey, achievements and future vision at the event.
“Our roots are strong, our foundation is resilient, and our responsibility to the community remains unwavering,” said Continental Hospital PLC Managing Director and CEO Malik Talha Ismail Bari.
“We are committed to building a healthcare institution that future generations will be proud of,” he said.
“This rebranding is not just a new identity; it is our promise to lead with excellence, innovation and trust while continuing to serve our patients, caregivers and communities with the same consultants and services,” he added.
The hospital said the rebranding represents a continuation of its legacy while strengthening its commitment to advancing healthcare services across Bangladesh.
