Unilever Consumer Care Limited has secured gold at the 12th ICSB National Award for Corporate Governance Excellence 2024, marking the fourth consecutive year the company has received the top honour for its corporate governance practices.
According to a press release, the award was conferred by the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh at a ceremony at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka.
Unilever Consumer Care was given the recognition for its consistent focus on transparency, accountability and strong governance across management operations.
The event featured Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin as chief guest, while the Chief Adviser’s Special Envoy on International Affairs Lutfey Siddiqi was the guest of honour.
Unilever Consumer Care Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Mohammad Naharul Islam Molla and Non-Executive Director SOM Rashedul Quayum received the award on the company’s behalf.
The ceremony was also attended by Bangladesh Bank Governor Ahsan H Mansur, Finance Secretary Khairuzzaman Mozumder, Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman and Financial Reporting Council Chairman Sajjad Hossain Bhuiyan.
The ICSB Corporate Governance Excellence Awards are determined through a multi-layered evaluation process, with participating companies reviewed by independent technical committees and final selections approved by a jury comprising local and international experts.
The latest recognition reflects Unilever Consumer Care’s efforts to uphold high standards of corporate governance, ethical conduct and responsible management, reinforcing its standing as a benchmark for governance excellence in the corporate sector.
