Due to a problem with Cloudflare, a critical part of internet infrastructure that is responsible defending websites against cyber-attacks, most websites worldwide are currently inaccessible.
Since Tuesday afternoon, Bangladesh time, internet users have been unable to access websites that use Cloudflare’s services. Attempting to access these websites reveals a ‘Cloudflare Error’ message appears across the website.
So far, the cause for the issue remains unclear, with The Guardian reporting that the company has encountered an “unidentified” problem.
Both site owners and visitors have been unable access these websites, both on the front and backends.
According to information from Downdetector, disruption rates for sites like X and Open AI increased around the same time as Cloudflare’s problem.
At around 6:30 PM Bangladesh time, Cloudflare issued a statement, saying, “We are seeing services recover. However, as we continue our remediation efforts, customers may see an elevated error rate compared to normal.”
Cloudflare announced that the matter is being investigated.
