Ulkasemi Pvt Limited has won the HSBC Export Excellence Awards 2025 in the category for export excellence in non-traditional and emerging sectors (services), with the award recognising the company’s growing role in taking Bangladesh’s semiconductor capabilities to global markets.
The ceremony was held on 7 December in Dhaka, with winners assessed on export performance, economic impact, diversity, responsible practices, governance standards and regulatory compliance.
The award underscores Ulkasemi’s expansion as a high-tech exporter. The company provides semiconductor design services to international clients and is among 32 global partners of the TSMC Design Centre Alliance, positioning Bangladesh within the global semiconductor supply chain.
Chief Executive and President Mohammed Enayetur Rahman said the recognition reflects Bangladesh’s rising profile in the industry.
He said the company now employs more than 550 engineers across four global design centres and plans to scale that number to 5,000 by 2030.
As part of its expansion, Ulkasemi will launch the VLSI Training Institute to build a pipeline of semiconductor engineers and strengthen the country’s deep-tech talent base.
The awards, supported by the Ministry of Commerce, the British High Commission Dhaka and KPMG Advisory Services, aim to highlight the role of deep-tech services in diversifying Bangladesh’s exports and boosting competitiveness in emerging global industries.
