A discussion meeting was held at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh on Monday to observe Independence Day and National Day.
The programme began with the national anthem, followed by a moment of silence in remembrance of the martyrs, reads a press release.
This was followed by detailed discussions on the significance of the Liberation War, the country’s history, and the spirit of independence.
The keynote speaker, valiant freedom fighter Major (retd.) Didar A Husain highlighted various aspects of the history, sacrifices, and achievements of independence. He also urged the younger generation to be inspired by the spirit of the Liberation War.
The welcome address was delivered by ULAB Vice-Chancellor Shamsad Mortuza, who emphasised the need for collective efforts to move the country forward by embracing the ideals of independence.
Additionally, cultural performances and special presentations by students added a unique dimension to the event, rekindling patriotism among the attendees.
The programme became lively and meaningful with the participation of the university’s teachers, students, and staff.
