A specialist medical team from the UK, led by renowned physician Dr Richard Beale, has arrived in Dhaka to assist in the treatment of BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
Several BNP leaders confirmed that he landed in Dhaka around 10am on Wednesday.
According to one source, he has already gone to Evercare Hospital to see Khaleda Zia. However, another source claims he will visit the hospital around 12pm and observe her condition until the evening.
The source added that Dr Richard Beale will decide whether Khaleda Zia can be taken to London for advanced treatment. If London is not possible, Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital is being considered as an alternative option.
Khaleda Zia’s personal physician and BNP standing committee member Dr AZM Zahid Hossain will brief journalists in the afternoon. Khaleda’s latest health updates are expected to be shared officially at that briefing.
Earlier, on 23 November, Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the Bashundhara area. She remains in critical condition. She is suffering from heart and lung infections, along with complications related to her kidneys, liver, arthritis, and diabetes.
