The United Kingdom on Friday congratulated BNP Tarique Rahman on the party’s election victory and said it is ready to work with the new government on economic growth, migration, climate action and security cooperation.
The message was issued by the British High Commission Dhaka.
“Congratulations to Tarique Rahman and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party on your election victory, and to the people of Bangladesh as the country enters a new chapter,” the statement said.
The United Kingdom said it looks forward to working with the new government on shared priorities, including economic growth, migration, climate action and security cooperation.
The statement reflects the United Kingdom’s continued engagement with Bangladesh as a close development and strategic partner.
