A new batch of students began their academic journey at UCSI University’s Bangladesh branch campus with the orientation program for the September 2025 semester held on Saturday,  at the university’s Banani campus in Dhaka.

The event witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of new students, their families, and faculty members, according to a press release.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by special guests, including Professor Dr Mohd Kushairi bin Mohd Rajuddin from UCSI University Malaysia and Registrar Ts. Khalid Abdullah bin Abu Bakar.

In his welcome address, Professor Kushairi expressed his excitement for the new students, saying, “By enrolling at UCSI University, you have made the right decision.

Ranked among the top 300 universities globally and ninth in Asia, you now have a unique opportunity to fulfil both your own and your family’s expectations. Ask more questions. The more you ask in class, the more new worlds will open up for you.”

He also encouraged the students to take part in extracurricular activities to enhance their learning experience.

Registrar Khalid Abdullah highlighted the importance of the new chapter in the students’ lives, stating, “Your higher education journey has begun with one of the world’s leading universities. This is a challenging yet rewarding path. Seize this opportunity to build your future wisely.”

Professor Golam Ahmed Faruqui, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management, motivated the students, saying, “Young people have the power to change both themselves and their country. The Gen-Z generation has already proven this. Your new life begins now—dream big, move forward, and remember that your parents, guardians, and teachers want to see you succeed.”

Professor Dr Syed Akhter Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Digital Innovation, shared words of encouragement, saying, “Your journey to fulfil your dreams has begun. At the same time, remember to focus on becoming more humane as you grow and learn.”

Provost Mr Chan Joe Jim emphasized UCSI University’s commitment to offering an international-standard education. He also highlighted the available credit transfer facilities for students.

The event continued with faculty members providing detailed briefings on the university’s profile, curriculum, course structure, teaching methods, examinations, and extracurricular activities. Afterward, the new students toured the campus, exploring classrooms, seminar rooms, labs, the library, and the sports zone.
