United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) has become title sponsor of upcoming Bangladeshi film “Bonolota Express” and will offer up to 50 per cent cashback on cinema tickets for its cardholders during Eid-ul-Fitr.
The cashback will be available at cineplexes for UCB customers as part of a promotional campaign linked to the film’s nationwide release, the bank said in a press release.
The move marks UCB’s entry into entertainment-led brand partnerships, as lenders seek to connect with younger and family audiences through popular cultural content.
The collaboration with director Tanim Noor is the bank’s first major integration with the local film industry.
Adapted from Humayun Ahmed’s novel “Kichukkhon”, the film is produced by the team behind “Utshob”, one of the highest-grossing local releases of 2025.
The cast includes Chanchal Chowdhury, Mosharraf Karim, Azmeri Haque Badhan, Zakia Bari Mamo, Sabila Nur, Intekhab Dinar, Sariful Islam Razz, Shamima Nazneen, Arefin Zilani, Sabrin Azad, A K Azad Setu, Shamol Mawla, Tridha Paul, Maan Labonno Chowdhury, Tamim Kareem and Sifat Rahman.
United Commercial Bank PLC Managing Director and CEO Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid said the initiative reflects the bank’s effort to stay relevant through contemporary engagement.
“Associating with a family-centric film like Bonolota Express reflects our values of community, mutual respect and cultural rootedness,” he said.
Director Tanim Noor said the film aims to bring together diverse human stories through a shared narrative.
“We aimed to capture the spirit of Bangladesh through a single, unifying experience, and such partnerships help meaningful stories reach wider audiences,” he said.
The bank said it will extend the film’s theme into future product and campaign initiatives as part of its broader branding strategy.
“Bonolota Express” is set for nationwide theatrical release during Eid-ul-Fitr 2026.
