University of Toronto (UofT) Professor Javed Mostafa and Sungkyunkwan University Professor Sam Oh have paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan. 

Professor Anwarul Islam from DU’s Information Science and Library Management Department was also present during the professors’ visit, according to a press release.

During the meeting, they exchanged views regarding various issues, including the possibility of undertaking collaborative academic and research programmes between their respective institutions.

Niaz stressed the need for expansion of joint collaborative programmes with renowned universities across the world to promote DU’s position in international rankings.

Earlier, Professor Javed Mostafa delivered a special lecture on “AI and Machine-Learning approaches for Improving Biomedicine and Healthcare” in the IQAC conference room.

Professor Sam Oh also delivered a lecture, focusing on “Toward Beneficial Al: Strategies for Coexisting with AI” at the Department of Information Science and Library Management.
