Two teenage boys were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Belabo upazila of Narsingdi on Friday evening.
The deceased were identified as Sohan, 14, son of Italy expatriate Mamun Mia, and Nahid, 14, son of Nurul Islam.
Both hailed from Birbaghab village under Bajnaba Union and were eighth-grade students of Harisangan High School.
The accident occurred around 7:30pm near Bottoli Bazar in Patuli Union on the Belabo-Poradia road.
According to local residents, Sohan and Nahid were travelling towards their village from Poradia when their motorcycle collided head-on with another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.
The other motorcycle was carrying Shuvo, 30, son of the late Shahjahan Mia of Belabo village, and Siam, 28, son of Suman Mia of Birbaghab village.
Sohan died on the spot, while Nahid was taken to Belabo Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Shuvo sustained serious injuries and was referred to Narsingdi District Hospital for advanced treatment. Siam received primary treatment and was later discharged.
Belabo Police Station Officer-in-Charge SM Aman Ullah said police had learned of the fatal accident and were investigating the cause of the collision.
