Two Assistant Attorney Generals have resigned from their positions. Mujahidul Islam Shaheen and Ahmad Musanna Chowdhury submitted their resignation letters on Thursday to President Mohammed Shahabuddin through the Attorney General’s Office.
Sources from the Attorney General’s Office confirmed the matter to TIMES of Bangladesh, noting that they resigned citing personal reasons.
Ahmad Musanna Chowdhury and Mujahidul Islam Shaheen were appointed to their posts as AAGs on 28 August 2024 during the tenure of the previous interim government. They had been performing their duties since their appointment.
Prior to the resignation of these two AAGs, the Attorney General’s Office had a total of 230 assistant attorney generals and 103 deputy attorney generals.
