Khandaker Saeed Akter Ripon, brother of most‑wanted criminal Khandaker Nayeem Ahmed Titon, has claimed that top criminal Sanjidul Islam Emon has been in South America since his release from prison.

Ripon, plaintiff in the murder case, made the claim Saturday at a press conference at the Bangladesh Crime Reporters Association.

He said Titon had visited their village home in Jashore about six weeks ago and warned him that Picchi Helal was plotting to kill him.

Ripon could not explain the cause of the dispute, but suggested Titon may have been killed over conflicts surrounding sacrificial cattle markets in Basila. He admitted he could not answer many questions.

He also said he had submitted both his own and Helal’s mobile phones to investigators for forensic examination.

Titon was gunned down Tuesday night in Dhaka’s New Market area by unidentified assailants. Though Ripon filed a case, no arrests have yet been made.

Investigators said DB and RAB are analysing footage from 37 CCTV cameras to identify two shooters and backup team members.

Titon’s murder has drawn names of several top criminals, sparking blame games. Titon’s friend and brother‑in‑law Emon, Pichchi Helal, and former army chief Aziz Ahmed’s younger brother Tofayel Ahmed Joseph are among the prime suspects.
