A team of Bangladesh Coast Guard (CG) has seized 185 bottles of foreign liquor worth around Tk70 lakh from Patenga, Chattogram.
Coast Guard media officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon confirmed the matter on Thursday morning.
He said a special operation was conducted at dawn in the Akmal Ali Switch Gate area under EPZ Police Station in Chattogram by the Coast Guard Patenga outpost.
During the operation, 185 bottles of various types of foreign liquor worth about Tk70 lakh were seized from the area.
He added, “The smugglers fled the scene after sensing the presence of the Coast Guard, so no one could be detained.”
He said necessary legal action will be taken in this regard.
Sabbir Alam Sujon also said such operations by the Coast Guard will continue in the future.
