An elderly woman, her daughter and grandson were found dead at their house in Chanderkhola village of Kachua upazila in Bagerhat on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Rashida Begum, 85, wife of Rashid Sheikh, her daughter Monira Begum, 55, and Monira’s son Ahat Hawladar, 25. All of them were residents of the village.
Local people informed police after receiving no response from Rashida Begum’s house in the morning.
Sub-inspector Mahmud Hasan of Kachua Police Station said police recovered the bloodstained bodies from two separate rooms of the house after being alerted by locals.
Police suspect that the three family members were killed one or two days before their bodies were recovered.
“Police are investigating the cause of the deaths,” said SI Mahmudul.
