Three children have died with measles symptoms in the country in the last 24 hours till 8 am on Monday. During this period, 1,080 children have been identified with measles and measles symptoms..
The Directorate General of Health Services disclosed the figures in its latest measles update issued.
Of the new infections, 113 children were confirmed to have measles, while 967 were classified as suspected cases.
The three deaths recorded during the period involved children with measles symptoms. No death from laboratory-confirmed measles was reported.
Since 15 March, 751 children have died with suspected measles symptoms, while 96 others have died from confirmed measles, taking the combined death toll to 847.
During the latest 24-hour period, 908 children were admitted to hospitals and 906 were discharged after receiving treatment.
DGHS data show that 1,31,050 suspected measles cases and 16,408 confirmed cases have been recorded since 15 March.
A total of 1,13,528 patients have been admitted to hospitals during the period, of whom 1,09,189 have recovered and returned home.
