Aamir Khan has joined Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan for Asha Forever, a special music video honouring legendary singer Asha Bhosle. Composer AR Rahman is leading the tribute project.
According to Hindustan Times, Aamir’s involvement follows Rahman’s announcements confirming Shah Rukh and Salman’s participation. Rahman had earlier thanked Shah Rukh for agreeing to appear in the tribute before making a similar announcement about Salman.
The project brings Bollywood’s three Khans together to celebrate Bhosle, whose career spanned more than seven decades. Their reunion has sparked particular interest as the actors rarely appear together in the same project.
Rahman first offered a glimpse of the tribute in June, when he released a teaser featuring Bhosle alongside musicians and performers involved in the project. He said the tribute began as an idea while the singer was still alive.
“This tribute began as a dream while Asha Bhosle ji was still with us. We had hoped she would witness the love and gratitude this project carries,” Rahman wrote on social media.
Bhosle died on 12 April this year at the age of 92 following multiple organ failure. She remained involved in the early stages of the tribute before her death.
Veteran actor Kamal Haasan will also feature in the project. Rahman has thanked him for joining the tribute.
Asha Forever will also coincide with the release of Bhosle’s final recorded film song, Ae Meri Zindagi, Tu Chupi Hai Kahan, from Om Ka Hari. Bhosle recorded the song in 2023, and it is scheduled for release on 8 September, her birth anniversary.
The release date for the full Asha Forever music video has not yet been announced.
