Members of the Special Response Battalion (SRB) have arrested three people along with counterfeit currency notes amounting to Tk5,93,000 in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj.
The arrestees are Md Bashir Uddin, Md Manik, and Md Yusuf Ali.
The suspects were apprehended during an operation conducted at Mukim Market in the Swarnakanpatti area of Shibganj municipality around 12:30am early Saturday.
The developments were confirmed in a press release issued by the SRB on Saturday.
According to the press release, acting on a tip off, an SRB team carried out the raid at Mukim Market and detained the three men with the forged notes in their possession.
Law enforcers also seized cash totalling Tk20,640, three mobile phones, and two bank cards from them.
Following the filing of a case in connection with the incident, the arrestees were handed over to Shibganj Police Station.
