Techno Drugs Ltd has marked a significant milestone in Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical industry with the launch of South Asia’s first-ever single rod contraceptive implant.

The company, a pioneer in contraceptive implant manufacturing since 2019, is now the only producer in Bangladesh and one of only five companies worldwide to offer this innovative product, according to a press release.

The breakthrough followed extensive research and development, led by Techno Drugs Managing Director Shah Jalal Uddin Ahmed, a distinguished pharmacist with a global reputation. The new single rod implant is designed to replace the previous double rod implant, offering a more efficient and convenient contraceptive solution.

Techno Drugs operates South Asia’s sole facility dedicated to the production of these single rod implants, which has been purpose-built to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality. The “ETO Plant” produces implants that provide reliable, long-term contraceptive solutions for users.

This advancement not only strengthens Bangladesh’s position in the global reproductive healthcare market but also reduces the country’s reliance on imported contraceptives, while enhancing access to affordable and high-quality options.
