Dhallywood actor Taskeen Rahman may be set to return to the big screen after a prolonged absence, with director Tanim Rahman Anshu considering him for his upcoming film Limbo.
Taskeen was last seen in the 2023 film Casino, although the film had been shot several years earlier.
He made his big-screen debut in 2017 with Dhaka Attack, playing a villainous character that quickly drew attention from audiences.
His distinctive appearance and performance in the film earned him recognition, and he went on to act in several other projects.
However, he gradually disappeared from the screen. Reports later emerged that he was suffering from an eye condition and had travelled to Australia for treatment.
Now, after several years away from acting, discussions have begun about his return to cinema.
Taskeen is in talks with director Taneem Rahman Anshu for Limbo, which is being described as Bangladesh’s first space drama and a cosmic romance.
The film will mark Anshu’s return to feature filmmaking after nearly seven years.
Speaking about the project, Anshu said the team plans to begin shooting Limbo in December.
“We are planning to start shooting Limbo towards the end of the year, in December. We will share more details about the film with the media very soon,” the director said.
Regarding Taskeen’s possible return, Anshu confirmed that they had discussed the project but said the actor’s participation would depend on his health.
“I have spoken to Taskeen about my new film Limbo. However, whether he can work on it will depend on his physical condition. He is currently in Australia and undergoing treatment. It is too early to say anything about his recovery, as he may need more time to fully regain his health,” Anshu said.
If his health permits, Limbo could mark Taskeen’s return to the big screen after a lengthy break.
