BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has stated that the upcoming arrival of Tarique Rahman in Chittagong will be significantly more than just a political programme.
He made the remarks while speaking at a preparatory meeting held on Monday night at Mehedibagh in the port city, organised ahead of Tarique Rahman’s scheduled arrival in Chattogram.
Amir Khosru said Tarique Rahman is not only a leader of the BNP but a leader for all, adding that people from all walks of life in Chattogram would gather to see him and listen to his speech.
He said the party wants to ensure that the programme is held in a peaceful, festive and orderly atmosphere, stressing that cooperation from all quarters is essential to make the event successful.
The meeting was attended by the BNP-nominated candidate for the Chittagong-16 constituency, alongside the presidents and general secretaries of the Chittagong City, North, and South District units of the BNP, as well as various other party leaders
Party sources said the meeting discussed organisational preparations, maintaining discipline and overall management arrangements surrounding Tarique Rahman’s visit to Chattogram.
