Mahdi Amin, the spokesperson for the party’s Election Management Committee and advisor to the BNP chairman, announced these initiatives during a press conference, held on Thursday evening at the party’s central election management office in Gulshan.

Accompanied by Jubaer Babu, a member of the BNP Central Election Management Committee, Mahdi Amin mentioned that the election campaign commenced on 22 January in accordance with the schedule declared by the Election Commission.

The five key pillars, introduced by Tarique Rahman, are designed to foster public engagement and create a consensus for building a “prosperous Bangladesh.”

The BNP has launched a service-based web app called “Match Policy” to encourage political participation, particularly focusing on the aspirations of the youth following the events of July.

The app features a user-friendly interface and has already seen participation from 300,000 people who have shared their views on various party policies.

Youth policy talk

Tarique Rahman began his election campaign with a visit to Sylhet, where he held a dialogue with the local youth at a hotel.

The event saw participation from 127 students representing 19 different educational institutions, including schools, madrasas, medical colleges, and engineering universities.

Discussions covered a wide range of topics, including employment, agriculture, education, healthcare, environment, IT, and women’s empowerment. The youth also provided feedback on specific BNP policies such as “Family Cards” and “Farmer Cards.”

The event was attended by Tarique Rahman’s wife, Zubaida Rahman, and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

BNP’s eight leaflets

This programme focuses on the party’s core visions. A recent event was organised where diplomats from various foreign embassies reviewed leaflets detailing the BNP’s key policies.

Mahdi Amin noted that the BNP has a long history of structural reform proposals, beginning with Vision 2030 in 2016, followed by the 27-point state repair plan, and culminating in the 31-point plan released in 2023.

Mahdi Amin emphasised that the BNP is a party that combines active struggle for people’s rights with policy-driven politics. He expressed confidence that the public would support the party’s vision for reform and development by voting for the “Sheaf of Paddy” in the upcoming election.
