Police have recovered the body of an unidentified girl child from the sea beach in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
The body was recovered from the Maheshkhali Para sea beach ghat area of Teknaf on Thursday afternoon.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Belal Hossain of Teknaf Model Police Station said that upon receiving information from locals, police went to the scene and recovered the body of the girl child. No identification documents were found with the body, and the child’s identity has not yet been ascertained.
He said that an investigation is ongoing regarding the incident and necessary legal measures are being taken, adding that the preliminary investigation suggests that the child’s body washed ashore on the beach due to sea waves.
