BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit the grave of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inqilab Moncho, at 11am on Saturday, party sources said.
He will be accompanied by party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and other senior party leaders during the visit.
After paying respects at Hadi’s grave, Tarique Rahman is scheduled to go to the Election Commission for National Identity Card (NID) registration.
He will later visit the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), commonly known as Pangu Hospital, to meet those injured in the July mass uprising, according to party officials.
On Friday afternoon, Tarique Rahman paid tribute at the grave of his father, BNP founder and former president Ziaur Rahman.
He returned to the country on Thursday aboard a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight and was accorded a reception by the party at the 300-feet area in Purbachal before visiting his mother, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, at Evercare Hospital and returning to his Gulshan residence.
On 12 December, two assailants riding a motorcycle shot Hadi on Box Culvert Road in the capital’s Bijoynagar area. He later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment in Singapore on 18 December.
Hadi was a prospective independent candidate from the Dhaka-8 constituency in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election.
