BNP chairman Tarique Rahman will hold a rally of his election campaign on Sunday in front of the party’s central office at Naya Paltan, Dhaka.
The announcement was made at a press conference on Thursday afternoon by senior joint secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi at Naya Paltan.
Rizvi said the rally will start at 2pm on 8 February, with Tarique Rahman attending as the chief guest.
Party leaders have confirmed that extensive preparations have been made in and around Naya Paltan to ensure smooth conduct and maximum public participation.
Instructions have been sent to various party units and affiliated organisations to mobilise supporters for the event.
According to BNP sources, the party views the rally as a key demonstration of strength ahead of the polls.
Tarique Rahman is expected to highlight electoral pledges, the current political situation, and the party’s roadmap for the future.
The press conference was also attended by the party chairman’s adviser and spokesperson of the Election Management Committee Mahdi Amin, BNP’s Joint Secretary General Habibun Nabi Khan Sohel, and Jatiotabadi Chhatra Dal president Rakibul Islam Rakib, among others.
