Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has personally reached out to several senior journalists, including the recently released Anis Alamgir, to inquire about their welfare.
On Saturday evening, Tarique made phone calls to the journalists to exchange Eid greetings and check on their physical health.
In addition to Anis Alamgir, those the prime minister spoke with included senior journalists Shafik Rehman and Mokarram Hossain, among others.
Speaking to the media about the gesture, Anis Alamgir stated that the prime minister called him at approximately 7pm.
“I was truly surprised,” Alamgir said, noting that Tarique extended Eid greetings to both him and his wife and inquired about his time spent in prison.
