Tanjil Ahmed Ruhullah, Founding Chairman of YoungShip Bangladesh and Managing Director and Head of Claims at Interport Group, has been elected as the Regional Representative for Asia and the Middle East on the Board of Directors of YoungShip International.
The election took place during the organization’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on June 17, 2026 Copenhagen, Denmark, marking a significant achievement for Bangladesh’s maritime sector and highlighting the growing presence of Bangladeshi professionals in the global shipping industry.
With this appointment, Tanjil will represent YoungShip members across Asia and the Middle East—one of the world’s most strategically important maritime regions and serve on the international governing board of the organization.
Tanjil Ahmed Ruhullah has been actively involved with the YoungShip network for several years and played a leading role in establishing and expanding YoungShip Bangladesh. Under his leadership, the organization has promoted professional development, industry collaboration, youth engagement and policy dialogue, earning recognition as one of the most active national branches within the YoungShip network.
According to YoungShip Bangladesh, the Election Committee acknowledged Tanjil’s longstanding dedication and contributions to the international organization and expressed confidence in his ability to represent the region at the global level.
As Regional Representative, he will contribute to shaping YoungShip International’s strategic initiatives, strengthening cooperation among maritime professionals across the region and creating new opportunities for the next generation of industry leaders.
YoungShip Bangladesh congratulated Tanjil on his election and expressed optimism that his new role will further enhance Bangladesh’s visibility and influence within the global maritime community.
