The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed the prize money distribution for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 after the tournament ended with India lifting the trophy.
A total of $11.25 million will be shared among the 20 participating teams. This equals about Tk 123.75 cr in total prize money. The prize pool follows the record increase in ICC tournament prize money that was announced in 2024.
India received the biggest share after winning the title. The champions took home $2,639,423 (Tk 29.03 cr) after defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final.
New Zealand earned the second largest amount. The runners up received Tk 15.65 cr after reaching only their second men’s T20 World Cup final.
Semi finalists South Africa were the only other team to cross the one million dollar mark. They received Tk 11.06 cr after an impressive run in the tournament. The Proteas had remained unbeaten until New Zealand beat them at Eden Gardens after a stunning chase led by Finn Allen’s century.
England, the other semi finalist, earned Tk 10.72 cr. They had pushed India hard in the semi final but fell short.
West Indies received Tk 5.92 cr while Pakistan earned Tk 5.75 cr. Zimbabwe also enjoyed a strong campaign and took home Tk 5.41 cr after a memorable win over Australia.
Sri Lanka, one of the co hosts and a Super Eight team, received Tk 5.24 cr.
USA, Australia and Afghanistan each secured Tk 3.41 cr.
Scotland earned Tk 3.06 cr and Ireland received Tk 2.99 cr after both teams managed one win in the tournament.
Italy had a historic debut. They beat Nepal to record their first win in a men’s T20 World Cup and earned Tk 2.82 cr. Netherlands, UAE and Nepal received the same amount.
Canada, Namibia and Oman finished with the base payment of Tk 2.47 cr each.
The final figures include the base amount given to all teams along with bonuses for match wins and progress through different stages of the tournament.
