Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker has been hospitalised after testing positive for dengue, sharing a health update with fans from her hospital bed.
NDTV reported that Swara announced the diagnosis on her Instagram Story, posting a photograph from the hospital and writing, “Well that escalated fast. Dengue-fied and hospitalised!” The Raanjhanaa actress did not disclose her symptoms or say how long she had been in hospital.
Swara’s hospitalisation comes shortly after Balika Vadhu actress Avika Gor was admitted after testing positive for dengue. Avika’s husband, Milind Chandwani, said she had been running a high fever for five days before the diagnosis.
Despite feeling unwell, Avika continued with her professional commitments. She completed a shoot before travelling to Delhi for an advertisement.
Milind said they checked Avika’s reports after she returned to Mumbai and found that she had dengue. He said he repeatedly asked her to postpone her work, assuring her that the producers would understand.
“I told her many times that the producers would understand and that we could postpone it, but she kept saying, ‘Someone will suffer a loss, someone’s time will be wasted, someone’s money will be lost. I don’t want that. I’ll do as much as I can,’” he said.
Milind praised Avika’s dedication to her work despite her illness.
Swara was last seen on the television reality show Pati Patni Aur Panga, where she appeared with her husband Fahad Ahmad. She has yet to announce her next project.
Avika was last seen in the Telugu psychological thriller Ugly Story, which released in theatres on 22 May.
