Sonargaon University (SU) inaugurated its “Fall Uprising Fair 2026” admission campaign at its own premises in Dhaka on Monday, featuring tuition waiver benefits and scholarship opportunities for new students, according to a press release said.
The fair was inaugurated by Engineer Abdul Aziz, Chairman and Founder of the Board of Trustees of Sonargaon University, alongside Advocate Umme Salma, Executive Member of the Board of Trustees, and Azizul Bari (Shipu), Advisor to the Board of Trustees. The event, held at the university campus, brought together senior officials including Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Ekramul Islam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Bulbul Ahmed, deans of various faculties, heads of departments, coordinators, teachers, officials and students.
Under the admission fair scheme, students enrolling during the campaign will receive a guaranteed tuition fee waiver of Tk 40,000. Additional benefits include an instant Tk 1,500 waiver and a branded bag for admitted students. The university also announced scholarships of up to 100 per cent based on merit and previous academic performance.
The institution said the initiative is designed to encourage wider access to higher education and attract meritorious students across different disciplines. Officials highlighted that the waiver structure is part of a broader effort to make tertiary education more affordable for prospective applicants.
Sonargaon University’s academic offerings span multiple faculties. The Faculty of Science and Engineering provides undergraduate programmes including BSc in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Textile Engineering, Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, Fashion Design and Technology, Apparel Manufacturing and Technology, and Bachelor of Architecture.
The Faculty of Business offers the Bachelor of Business Administration programme, while the Faculty of Arts and Humanities includes LLB (Hons), BA (Hons) in Bengali, and BSS (Hons) in Journalism and Media Studies.
At the postgraduate level, the university is offering several business-related programmes, including Master of Business Administration (1-year MBA), Regular MBA (2-year), Executive MBA (EMBA), MBA in Supply Chain Management, Master in Bank Management, MBA in Textile and Fashion Marketing, and MBA in Apparel Merchandising.
