Actors Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha are set to reunite on screen in an untitled Delhi-based situational comedy scheduled for release in April 2027.
Directed by Shashie Vermaa, the film also stars Kumud Mishra, according to a press release. The project marks the first time Fazal and Chadha will appear as an on-screen romantic pair, although the couple previously shared screen space in the Fukrey franchise, whose films were released in 2013, 2017 and 2023.
Announcing the project on Instagram, Ali Fazal wrote, “There’s never just one side to a Delhi story. And that’s exactly what makes this one worth telling.” He described the film as “a comedy with a big heart and a sharp social satire at its core”.
Fazal also confirmed that the film, produced by Screenwork Productions and Giriraj Productions, will begin shooting later this year. However, the makers have kept details of the storyline under wraps.
Ali Fazal was last seen in the drama series Raakh, released in June. He will next appear in Mirzapur: The Movie.
Richa Chadha’s most recent screen appearance came in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2024 series Heeramandi, where she portrayed Lajwanti. The series also featured Manisha Koirala, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Sheikh.
