Actress Nayma Alam Maha, who recently drew attention for her performance as Samia in the film Pressure Cooker, has returned to television with a new serial.
Titled Dolchhut Pakhira, the serial is written and directed by Mahmud Hasan Shikder and has begun airing on ATN Bangla. Maha plays one of the central characters in the production.
For Maha, the serial marks her first new television project since Bachelor Point. She said the story revolves around characters like her own, portraying different aspects of their lives.
“After Bachelor Point, Dolchhut Pakhira is my new serial. The story revolves around me and several other characters like mine. It presents stories from our lives. The director has taken great care in making it, and the serial has already started airing on ATN Bangla. We are gradually receiving responses from viewers. I hope it becomes popular because the story is genuinely beautiful,” Maha said.
Rezwan Tur, Jannat Akter Suchi, Megha Shruti, Ayesha Akter Kona and Fatema Hira are also part of the cast.
Maha previously attracted considerable attention for her role in Ahmed’s Bachelor Point. As her career enters an important phase, she has become more selective about the projects she takes on.
She said she is receiving scripts regularly but takes time to read and consider each one before deciding whether to accept a role.
The actress also recently became emotional while recalling her school days at Barishal Government Girls’ School. She remembered buying achar for Tk5 and jhalmuri for Tk10 outside the school and sharing the snacks with friends while sitting near the school and its pond.
Looking ahead, Maha said she wants to work in films with stronger stories. However, she does not want to take on too many projects at once.
She believes that good work will eventually attract attention and is therefore willing to wait for the right opportunities.
