The Southeast University (SU) Job Fair 2026 concluded on 7 May with a grand closing ceremony held at the university premises. The two-day event brought together students and industry leaders, creating a vibrant platform for job seekers to connect with potential employers.
Honorable State Minister of the Ministry of Planning, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Zonayed Abdur Rahim Saki, attended the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest.
He highlighted the role of universities in national development, stating that universities serve as vital platforms for knowledge dissemination and unity among citizens. He further discussed the economic challenges facing the country, citing alleged financial irregularities in the previous government that impacted investment, employment, and GDP growth.
The event began with welcome remarks from Southeast University’s Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof M Mofazzal Hossain. Prof Mohammad Anwar Hossen, Member of UGC, was the Guest of Honour, while TM Asaduzzaman, Senior Education Specialist at the World Bank, attended as the Special Guest. The ceremony was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of Southeast University, Prof Yusuf Mahbubul Islam.
A total of 55 multinational and leading national organisations participated, spanning diverse sectors such as banking, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, IT, healthcare, and hospitality. The organisations collected CVs, conducted on-site interviews, and offered employment opportunities to Southeast University graduates.
In addition to recruitment activities, the event included seminars and sessions designed to enhance employability skills. The university management expressed optimism that the fair would effectively connect job seekers with corporate employers, boosting employability prospects for its graduates.
