Somoy TV chairman Morshedul Islam has submitted his resignation, according to the company’s board members. On Wednesday, he handed in a written resignation letter to the board of directors of Somoy Media Limited and emailed copies to all directors.
Morshedul Islam, who took over as chairman on 21 August 2024, has faced criticism from journalists and employees, who claim he failed to advance the organisation during his tenure.
In this context, Morshedul Islam the brother of former Awami League minister Advocate Qamrul Islam submitted his resignation. However, sources said the resignation has not yet been accepted by the board.
