The Social Services Department has extended online applications deadline for various allowances and education stipends under social security programme for 2026-27 fiscal year.
According to new decision, eligible candidates can now apply online until 31 August. The information was disclosed in a notice issued by Social Security Branch of Department of Social Services.
The previous scheduled timeframe for receiving these online applications was from 1 to 15 August.
The extension applies to the old-age allowance, allowance for widows and deserted or oppressed women, allowances and education stipends for persons with disabilities, and allowances and education stipends.
The facilities will be provided under the development programme for living standards of underprivileged communities, which includes Hijra, Bede, tea-garden workers, and other disadvantaged groups.
The decision to extend the timeframe was taken after field-level officers and applicants reported that many people were unable to complete their online applications within the original period due to software, internet, and electricity issues.
Interested applicants must submit their applications through the designated website of the Department of Social Services at dss.bhata.gov.bd/online-application.
The notification clarified that all other instructions and conditions previously issued in this regard will remain unchanged.
The circular, signed by Md Mosharraf Hossain, director (social security) of Department of Social Services, requested all concerned divisional, district, and upazila social services offices to take the necessary steps regarding this matter.
