After their on-screen chemistry in ‘Taandob’ caught the audience’s attention last year, Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan is once again pairing up with Sabila Nur, as the duo will be seen together in the upcoming musical-romantic film ‘Rockstar’, slated for release this Eid-ul-Adha.
Although there had been no official announcement for a long time, the first poster, released on Thursday evening, has finally put all speculation to rest. Set against lush greenery, the poster captures a romantic moment: Sabila rests her head on Shakib’s shoulder with her eyes closed, while Shakib appears immersed in the emotion, creating a cinematic, intimate frame.
The poster also features a lyrical caption: “Jwole agun, thame shomoy, choli ami tai to shudhu tomar-i shathe…,” hinting at the film’s strong musical core.
‘Rockstar’ is being produced under the banner of Sun Communications, known for acclaimed projects like ‘Monpura’ and ‘Hawa’. The film is directed by Azman Rusho.
According to the director, Shakib Khan will appear in a completely new avatar, as a rock musician who writes and composes his own songs. To prepare for the role, he even practiced playing the guitar before the beginning of the film’s shooting.
Filming started in Malaysia last month and is currently ongoing at various locations across Bangladesh. More than half of the shooting has already been completed, with plans to wrap up by the first week of May.
Alongside Shakib and Sabila, the film also stars Tangia Zaman Mithila. The screenplay has been penned by Nusrat Maati, while dialogues are written by Ayman Asib Shadhin and Samiul Bhuiyan.
