Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and opposition leader in parliament Shafiqur Rahman has said that crime in the country is increasing due to delays in justice delivery and instances of failure of justice.
He made the remarks on Monday afternoon after visiting the father of murdered child Ramisa at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Shafiqur Rahman returned to the country after performing Hajj and went directly from the airport to the hospital to meet the grieving family.
He expressed hope that the government would fully implement its commitment to ensuring justice in the Ramisa murder case. He also said that swift justice is possible if the authorities act with sincerity.
