Engineer Selim Md Jane Alam joined Chattogram Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Wasa) as managing director on Monday, taking over responsibilities from outgoing managing director Miz Monowara Begum at the utility’s newly constructed headquarters in Chattogram.
The handover took place at the boardroom on the third floor of the new Chattogram Wasa building, where officials also attended a views-exchange meeting to bid farewell to Monowara Begum and welcome the newly appointed managing director, the organisation said in a press release.
Chattogram Wasa Secretary Miz Shaheda Fatema Chowdhury conducted the programme.
Both the current and former managing directors attended the meeting alongside Deputy Managing Directors for administration, engineering and finance, commercial managers, chief engineers, executive magistrates and officials from different levels of the organisation.
The event marked the formal transfer of leadership at the state-owned utility as the organisation moves ahead with its operational and administrative activities under the new management.
