A total of seven flights on the Dhaka-Riyadh route have been cancelled until noon on Sunday following the suspension of flight operations in Saudi Arabia’s King Khalid International Airport after Houthi attacks.

Meanwhile, state-owned Biman Bangladesh Airlines has cancelled two flights on the route.

The Riyadh airport has announced suspension of all flight operations and air traffic until 3am on 12 October Bangladesh time.

At least 12 people, including two Bangladeshis, were killed and another 309 injured in the attack late Saturday night. All the injured were receiving treatment at hospitals.

In a statement issued early Sunday, the country’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said the victims of the attack included four Saudi nationals, two Bangladeshis, and one national each from the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine and Sudan.

GACA said airport officials were assessing the damage and working to determine the exact number of people injured.

Riyadh airport has now been attacked at least four times in the past week. In one of the attacks, on Thursday, three Saudi nationals, including a pilot, were killed.
