The government has sent seven assistant police superintendents (ASPs) on compulsory retirement from service.
The officers were retired in the public interest under Section 45 of the Government Service Act, 2018.
The Police-1 branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification in this regard on Thursday.
The notification was signed by Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Manzur Morshed Chowdhury, on behalf of the President.
According to the notification, the order issued in the public interest will come into effect immediately. The retired officers will receive retirement benefits as per the relevant rules.
The officers sent on compulsory retirement are RAB Headquarters ASP Nure Alam Siddique; Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Tejgaon Division Assistant Commissioner (Patrol) Md Nurul Mottakin; Matiranga Circle ASP in Khagrachhari Kazi Wazed Ali; Galachipa Circle ASP in Patuakhali Md Syeduzzaman; RAB-2 ASP Md Golam Kibria; Dhaka Reserve Range Force ASP Mohammad Mizanur Rahman; and Sirajganj District ASP Md Rabiul Islam.
The seven officers had served in important police units, including as officers-in-charge (OCs) at different police stations, during the Awami League government’s tenure.
